Meet The Founder
Tierney Yates (he/him) believes our light is a gift given to us to help illuminate the change we want to see in our world. With social justice at his core, Tierney is ignited by the liberation of all people.
Prior to launching Little Light, Tierney worked in the nonprofit sphere for over 12 years, using cross-sector collaboration strategies to create spaces with equity and inclusivity at the center. His strategies and expertise include fundraising, program implementation, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) facilitation and training. As a leader in this work, he was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the California Legislature Assembly. Tierney has been a panelist for DEI work at the University California Santa Cruz, Mills College Lorry I. Lokey School of Business and Public Policy, and his alma mater, San Jose State University.
Tierney is excited to take his years of experience and use them to begin this journey of helping others find their light.
