#DEITrending
Everywhere you look now, corporations and organizations are putting out statements on where they stand on racial injustice and their no-tolerance policy on hate.

The phrase DEI is everywhere and has begun to seem like another pop culture reference or trend. We see Black Lives Matter painted on streets. We see murals painted on the walls of businesses. We see LGBTQ+ Pride flags draped on logos.
These actions create awareness, but has this work fallen to just an instagramable moment? Where are we on fixing systematic oppression? On creating equality, equity and liberation for all?
Murals are nice, but they do not dismantle racism and sexism. Pride logos are nice to look at but become irrelevant when you only show you’re an ally during the month of June.
This work is not a trend. This work is not a moment. This work is our lives.
